If you want to practise law as a solicitor or barrister, or to enter some other law-related form of employment, then the LLB Honours Law degree is your best choice. It is the only undergraduate course that offers a qualifying law degree for exemption from the academic stage of professional legal education, recognised by the Joint Academic Stage Board of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Bar Standards Board (BSB).

On the LLB Honours Law degree you will gain an excellent grounding in legal skills and the foundation subjects and opportunities to gain specialist knowledge in optional modules such as Employment and Discrimination Law. Students who graduate with at least a lower second class honours will be guaranteed a place at the College of Law to undertake the Legal Practice Course (the next stage towards becoming a solicitor). If you are not successful in any of the core modules in years 1 and 2 you may opt to exit with the BA Honours Law.

Alongside developing a thorough grounding in the core areas of English law, you will gain the legal skills and academic grounding to embark on the next stage of training. A law degree is also an excellent platform for entering related professions. Our tutors are highly trained solicitors and / or barristers and bring vast experience in a variety of legal settings, enabling you to gain first-class professional knowledge and expertise.
