The LLB (Hons) provides a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of law and develops the academic skills associated with graduate studies and those skills essential for a career in law and elsewhere. The course includes opportunities to study the necessary elements of a qualifying law degree. It can satisfy the academic stage of training requirements for students wishing to qualify as solicitors and barristers as determined by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board as well as Law Practitioners Qualification Requirements in Mauritius. It seeks to provide a sound, contemporary and relevant education in law for those students who wish to become professionally qualified. The LLB (Hons) aims to offer students the opportunity to select for themselves a portfolio of modules that matches their career aspirations and interests, and provides a succinct practical insight into the Mauritian legal landscape with two modules of Mauritian Law, each tailored to cover the legal principles under the Mauritian Civil Code and elements of the Penal Code.
