The BA (Honours) Accounting and Finance degree has been designed for those who wish to build a career in the field of accountancy. The course is an excellent stepping stone for students wishing to become qualified accountants. This degree will develop both your theoretical and practical knowledge of accounting and finance and equip you with the skills required to apply your knowledge in a complex international business environment. The academic rigour of the course means that you will develop highly desirable transferable skills including advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving as well as the ability to think logically and quantitatively.
You will explore Financial Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Law, Business Economics, Data Analysis and Taxation. During your first year you will learn how to use Sage accounting software and gain an official Sage user’s certificate. From the second year you will have the opportunity to extend your outlook by choosing modules that explore the broader business environment, gaining an understanding of the pivotal role of accounting to the success of organisations across the globe. Successful Middlesex BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance students are granted maximum number of exemptions towards ACCA* (up to 9 modules) and ACA** (up to 6 modules) professional qualifications and are also recognised by CIMA***, who grant exemption from 6 modules.
